The Chatham County Center of North Carolina Cooperative Extension teams up with the Chatham County Beekeepers’ Association to conduct an 8-week Beekeeping School every two years. The next school will be conducted in January 2025.
In between the years of our 8-week bee school we have a 1-day class that provides an introduction to beekeeping basics. The next 1-day class will be held in January 2026.
We conduct these beekeeping schools to introduce others to the joys of beekeeping and to increase the number of skilled beekeepers in our region. Our classes follow the recommended course material from the NCSBA and are taught by local experts with many years of beekeeping experience. Join us and find out how fun and rewarding beekeeping can be!
The classes are held at the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center in Pittsboro.
