CCBA August Monthly Meeting
INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT (IPM)
Join us Thursday evening, August 19th for the CCBA monthly meeting. Our very own Phil Uptmor will be conducting a presentation on Integrated Pest Management. The term Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is used quite a bit in the beekeeping world and during this presentation we will discuss what it means and how this approach can be incorporated into the beekeeper’s toolbox in the scope of the varroa destructor mite.
Phil Uptmor started his beekeeping journey in 2015 and has served on the CCBA board as a vice president and president. Phil is currently a NCSBA Journeyman beekeeper and manages around 30 colonies at various locations in Chatham county. Phil also works with a small group to manage the CCBA apiary at the CCCC and volunteers at the NC Zoo Honey Bee Habitat.
